SHIMA: An Authentic Japanese Restaurant in the South

REVIEW: Well let’s talk about AUTHENTIC JAPANESE FOOD! Dining at SHIMA feels like I was really in Japan. The food is really good in a way that you could really tell that all ingredients used are literally imported.

Aside from good food the appearance of the restaurant is a plus point! For the first time in the Philippines, SHIMA used ‘Namako Wall’ which is a traditional exterior used in residences of high-ranking samurais in the Edo Period. Talk about ancient, ey?

Aaaaand I must say, Minimalist interior! The restaurant is very clean, cozy and very japanese! The food is really, really good! If you haven’t been to Japan, then you should dine in here cos it’s definitely the closest one you can get! The restaurant is located infront of Container Turf in BF Homes Paranaque.

SO, WHAT TO ORDER?

One good thing about dining in Shima is that they give you free appetizer. It’s like a japanese coleslaw with tuna. Idk if you could get a refill tho, but solve na habang nag iintay ka sa orders mo.

I love Salmon and Tuna so why not get both? Their Salmon Sashimi is amazingly good. I still drool whenever I think of it! Thickly cut and super fresh you guys I can’t stress anymore so go on and visit them ASAP.

Same goes with their Spicy Tuna Salad, Idk who their supplier is but kudos!

SUSHI ROLL? Shima Special P250, Hawaiian Roll P250, Salmon Skin Roll P220

This is the Shima Special. I recommend for you to try the Shima Special. I tried to bite it into half BUT fail. you have to really eat ng buo. The struggle is real but ang SARAP.

Hawaiian Roll, 8-pc sushi – It’s like California Maki but with a twist cos it has salmon on top!

Salmon Fish Roll – what I really liked a bout the Salmon Skin Roll is that it didnt give me allergies. Crunchy ng salmon skin and talagang balanced yung taste. Sarap tho, definitely coming back!

THERE’S ALWAYS ROOM FOR RAMEN!

Ito yung Tantanmen na sinasabe nila. I’m really amazed sa mga ramen since I know mahirap gumawa nito. And guys, I must say worth it tong TANTANMEN na to. The best talaga saktong sakto lang yung taste niya and the chili paste on the side, akala mo lang super spicy siya but sakto talaga.

AND FOR THEIR DON?

This is the Yakiniku Don (P300), I always order the Katsudon and I know na how it tasted, so I tried the Yakiniku Don. Well, you have to mix it agad while it’s hot para medyo mainitan yung egg yolk. This dish is really tasty, I thought that the raw egg would steal the taste but naging balanced yung sweetness ng raw beef. idk how but, sobrang sarap!

Definitely coming back!! Visit them at 241 Aguirre Avenue BF Homes, Paranaque. See you there 🙂
